This was the craziest but best week ever!!
Emanuel was baptized!!
The baptism was beautiful. So amazing! The members all said that it was the most beautiful and spiritual baptism they had ever attended. I played violin while Sister Carter sang. Emanuel had to get baptized 4 times because he was so tall the font doesnt fill up enough. Éach time, part of his body stuck out of the water. He eventually just had to sit down in the font with his head sticking out of the water and then they just pushed him over. It was funny. But it taught a great lesson. If baptism isn't done correctly, you've got to redo it! We ask people to follow the example of Jesus Christ and be baptized the way he was, with complete immersion in water. We finally got it the 4th time! He was so excited afterwards and the Spirit was there and so strong!
Another great thing happend this week! We invited a member to come with us to teach Emanuel and his mom, Margarida. We talked about prophets and then Belmiro (the member) shared his testimony. He ended up talking for 20 minutes and we had an appointment so he stayed there and we left. We got out of our nexdt appointment and Belmiro called and said that Margarida wanted to be baptized! We were sooo shocked! Did our member just mark someone for baptism?! Ahhh it was crazy! We went over the next day with him and invited her to be baptized. Sister Pennock let me invite her and the Spirit was so strong! We all just started crying. Margarida said yes and Emanuel freaked out! He was like: Serio? Serio? Queres? Do fundo do coração? (Really? Really? From the bottom of you heart?) She just laughed and said yes! We've invited her to be baptized like a million times before but something changed. I can't wait to see her baptism! Hopefully I don't get transfered before!
We've also been working with João Paulo. He's marked to get baptized next week but he still needs to stop smoking and drinking coffee. We've made goals with him to stop. We're also stopping by his house at the times he would usually drink coffee and having him go teach lessons with us. He really enjoys knocking doors and talking to people.
Everyone remember Bea? She was baptized six weeks about. After her baptism, she went to Switzerland for vacation. I really missed her! I had been texting her mom and asking if Bea would be coming to church. She said that she wouldn't because she had to go somewhere. I was super sad because I wanted to see her. And then guess what.. I was waiting for an investigator to arrive at church and guess who showed up! BEA! I literally cried when I saw her! I was a little mad that she made her mom lie to us but eh oh well. She's back and life is all good :)
I can't believe we only have 2 more weeks of this transfer! I might be getting a new companion or get transfered!! Vamos ver!
Love you all so much!!
