Week 2 in Viseu!!

This week was crazy!

Quick rundown of the week:

We went Catholic church jumping on Monday. The churches here are soo beautiful!
On Wednesday we drove on a bus for an hour to go see a family of TEN! TEN!! Eight kids and a mom and a dad! That's unheard of in Portugal! Their family is so amazing! Here are their names: Vitor, Deolinda, Liliane, Bruno, Diogo, Mónica, Margarida, Catarina, Marco, Pedro. They're all musically talented and they are a super close knit family. The kids' ages range from 21-5 years old. They're so elect! We made each of the kids a personalized Book of Mormon!

Also, we're teaching a 13 year old girl named Bea. She's amazing! She has such faith and she wants to be a missionary when she grows up. She always texts us and asks us when she can spend the day with us. Her parents aren't too interested but they're supportive of her decision to be baptized. Her mom actually was taking lessons from the missionaries about 12 years ago and we think that Bea's biological father is Mormon but he lives in Brasil. She's awesome. She has a date set for the 23rd of July but we might move it closer!

We're teaching a little girl named Ana Sofia. She's literally a miracle. We had a goal to get two investigators to church yesterday and only had one because one ended up not coming. Then Ana showed up with her dad. Her parents are divorced and her dad lives in Guadalupe and she lives with her mom here. Her dad was baptized in Guadalupe last week and came here to see his daughter. They came to church together and they just happen to live in our area. So we decided to go teach her after church and she wanted to be baptized!! She's 11! We taught her about the Restoration and we asked her how she felt and she said "I feel so good!" and then she said "I think it's true!" Our hearts literally stopped! She's the sweetest! She has a date to be baptized on the 16th of July.

We're being blessed so much here! Our mission president has taught us and challenged us to be 100% obedient here. We've tried hard to do that and it's paying off. People are literally being put in our way! It's amazing! It is definitely true in D&C 82:10:

"I, the Lord, am bound when ye do what I say; but when ye do not what I say, ye have no promise."

When we're obedient, the Lord will bless us. He wants to help and all we need to do is keep the commandments and follow the example of Jesus Christ. It's so incredibly simple!

I love Viseu and the people here! They're so sweet, especially the members! Just today, we were getting smoothies and a member walked in and asked if he could pay for us! We're so blessed!

Happy Fourth of July!
